Crocheted Baby Blanket

                                    Welcome Friends!!

If I haven't been sewing in my studio, then you will find me in the garden..........

These past few days have been rainy so what better way to pass the time then

crocheting.....

I started making a Hippo toy ...piece by piece with the african flower hexagon.

Well I thought I had better have a backup plan just in case this Hippo didn't turn out..

So I started crocheting a cute baby's blanket....

Can't go wrong with this.

First I did a chain about 4 ft in length then I started to sc crochet back.

On the last chain I chained 2 then turned my work and continued back.

1 sc then a dc in the same stitch.    It starts looking like a basket weave......

This is a pattern that I just started ...didn't know how it would look .... just had to try ....

I like exploring different stitches....... You don't always need a pattern to follow.

So here is the finished product.

I used Bernat Baby Sport. ......Baby Baby Ombre...........Picked up this ball at Joannes.......

Half way through I realized I needed more so I found the same ball of yard at Wal Mart.

I continued in this stitch till it measured 48 x 42.

It looked a little plain so I added a row of dc all around then did the bobble stitch.

There are different variations of the bobble stitch , but this one is mine.

Love how it turned out.   This cute blanket is going to a Great Nephew or Great Niece.

We don't know the gender yet. But I know it will go well with a boy or a girl.

What do you do on a rainy day..............

                                           Thanks for Visiting!

                                                   Linda
