It all started with 1 Geranium

IT ALL STARTED WITH ONE GERANIUM

Playing in the dirt........

I over winter my geraniums in the basement. I take them out of the ground and planters .
I shake off the dirt then throw them into a basket.

They are put in our furnace room. Into the darkest corner.
Then in early March I bring them upstairs and I cut them back and plant them in a small
amount of dirt. Then they go in front of the window. We face south so they get the bright light.
Within a few weeks the leaves are dark green, and watch them grow.

Once it warms up over freezing I start putting them outside to climatise them.
Now it's time to plant them in the garden.

I choose to put them in planter boxes and then I add other annuals.

Here is a picture of our Pear Tree in full blossom.

Looks like we will have another great
crop this year.
Do you over winter any of your plants or buy new every year?????

                                        Have a great week!

  1. That is such a smart thing to do! You're basically recycling your plants! I've never done that. I'm too lazy I guess. I just buy new.

  2. I know people that do this but I always feel like our season is so short that I want to jump on the impact wagon and go for the big stuff right away. Do they get big fast Linda?

  8. Hi Linda, In San Diego we don't have to do that, but what a smart thing to do. Your geraniums will be beautiful this year. Can't wait to see them in the next couple of months! Thanks for sharing on Simple & Sweet Fridays.
