CROCHET!!
INTERESTING!!
I have been crocheting off and on for the last 25 years...
In the last 6 months I have crocheted more..........
I fell in love with gray throws (afghans) when they
started appearing in magazines...............
Pottery Barn, Anthropology........to name a few.......
Now I was not about to go out and spend hefty$$$$$$
so off to the big box store and gather some wool.
I found these super big balls in every colour......
So I picked up gray, veregated gray, red, blue, off white.....
for a low price of $14.99 a giant ball.
This is where it all began...........
Crocheting a very easy,peasy pattern ..............
chain (ch) double crochet (dc) even for a beginner......
First came this veregated gray one.........
Then this red one........
Then blue.....
next gray.......
I haven't made granny squares in years..........
so I started out small...............
making this pillow................
Couldn't stop there.....................
Finished this red and white one............
If you look closely you will see the middle looks like a flower.
Now I'm working on this one...........
Making not one but two pillows..............
Do you see a where I'm going with this???
A pillow for each daughter to match their AFGHANS!
The other day while I was in the big box store....
I saw these luscious colours and they came home with me..
Now the question is what am I going to create?????
I hope you will give crocheting a try!!!
Thanks for Visiting!
As always I love hearing from you!

These are all so pretty, Linda! I'm just learning to crochet via the internet. I haven't been able to master the Granny Square yet, but I'll keep trying. I've been looking at those giant 1lb skeins, but have no idea how many it would take to make just a small lap-size afghan. Do you have an educated guess? Any suggestions about crocheting would be much appreciated!

I haven't crocheted for years, but I've been eyeing all the bits of yarn leftover from my baby-knitting projects and thought that I should really start making granny squares. Your afghans are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful, I love all the colors. Can't wait to see what you make next!

You have been very busy! They all look lovely and will be much appreciated gifts. I too love to crochet and knit and have made many gifts and items for our home. It is fun to see needlework 'popular' again as it never went out of style for many of us. Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend. Hopefully we can enjoy a bit of early spring weather.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been busy! They look amazing! Lucky daughters!!
ReplyDeleteWow. You are talented, and make it look so easy! I use to know how to make one long chain...LOL. I'd always mess up and give up though. Y6Let's see...i want the grey throw and that beautiful yellow/aqua pillow!!! You should sell!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll come back to the Farmhouse Porch and link this up at my linky party this Tuesday! Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment♥

Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment on my blog. It is always nice to see you. Your throws are beautiful. I know how to knit but not crochet.
ReplyDeleteLinda, your throws and pillows are beautiful! I'm working on one for one of my grandsons....I have two more to go. They all three want one and have chosen their colors. I really enjoy working on it in the evenings.....it's so relaxing. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter, Gail
ReplyDeleteI love the aphgans you made! They look just as good as the ones for sale in the stores. You have been very busy. Your family will love using those.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I'm addicted to grey. I'd pick the grey afghan every time!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you're inspiring me!! I need to pick up my needles and hooks and get my fingers working before the heat of the summer makes it unbearable to work with wool.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.
Gorgeous pillows & throws!! I've never crocheted, it's not something that really interested me. But looking at what you've created...I really should try it out. One day...
