forcing spring bulbs

                                       Welcome!!

A few weeks ago while in a florists I happened  to see some Hyacinths in

a pot.....

They were still at a green leaf stage..........

So I purchased just one from the florist.

I took the bulb home and in a warm bucket of water washed off the soil.

Then I filled a bulb jar with water............

The bulb is placed just into the water.................

Now place it in a warm sunny spot and watch it grow................

I had no idea of what colour this would turn out to be...........

This is an easy step.........

Now isn't this the most beautiful pink..............

The smell is heavenly.....

Why not go out and cut some branches from a forsythia bush......or flowering tree.........

Crush their branches at the base so that the water will go up them.............

and watch them bloom................

I have never forced tulips but...there is always a first.....

Thought I would share some beautiful tulips in the Netherlands........

Do you see the trucks in the bottom all lined up and ready to take the tulips to the stores......

These pictures are just breath taking........

Hope you have an beautiful tulip kind of day!!!!!!

                                Thanks for visiting!
