It's March break and we are having fun making Nests and
Painting Eggs!!My grandaughter is here for March break and that means....
CRAFT WEEK!!
These nests are so fun to make and easy!!!!!!!
We gathered twigs, leaves, from around the yard.........
Luckily for us there were some twigs on the snow.......
the leaves came from the Winter urn in front of the house.
( Yes I know it's time to remove the Winter Urn but it is still
frozen in the pot)
Next we added some raffia to the mix......
Birds usually add twine or string............
We used 2 different Mosses and Spray glue........
These instructions were found at Stone Gable.
Once the nest were constructed ............
We moved on to decorate the eggs.
$$$ store my favourite for crafts....
Styrofoam eggs....small........
styrofoam tray,
tooth picks, Craft paints,
brushes,
and a little imagination..................
insert toothpicks into eggs..........hold the toothpick while
you paint....then insert them into upside down tray....
Holds them perfectly .........Once they are dry.........
Speckle them...................
I placed mine in a glass cloche with brown speckled eggs and
a cute small bird from the $$$store........
Have fun with this DIY..........
Hope you are enjoying your time with the kiddies!!!

I love them Linda! It looks so pretty under the cloche!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative Linda, I love this! You will see this in my Easter decor!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so clever and so realistic looking! I love it!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I am not the only one obsessed with eggs at the moment. I am in the process of placing mine in a cloche too.
ReplyDeleteIt adds such a lovely dimension to Easter decorating.
Over the years, I've collected some birdnests but they are dirty and messy to use inside. This is a great alternative. Your cloche looks amazing. I have to get one!
ReplyDeleteI made a birdnest the other day, but I didn't think to use natural ingredients. It looks so cute. Love it.
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
