Country Chic Ruffled Drop Cloth Pillow TUTORIAL

                                 Welcome Friends!!

My finished ruffled drop cloth pillow cover.....

As promised here is the tutorial.

I'm a picture person myself so I have written each step of the

way on pictures.  That way you can go back and see.......

If you have any questions or doubts please feel free to contact me

and I will gladly walk you through.

1. Purchase  Drop cloth (I bought mine at Lowe's)
8' x 12' so I would have plenty left over for another project.

2, Now throw it in the washer.then dryer.  (If you want to lighten it         use White Brite , purchased at WalMart) I left mine as is.

3. Let's get started. This is going to be a long post.

Next we are going to work on the ruffles

Gather small amounts at a time.....
easier on the hands.....

Now comes the ties
I always have a couple of yards of muslin
on hand

So there you have it!!

I love how mine turned out!!

If you find my pictures too small you can always enlarge them
with the ctrl and + sign on your computer.

I would love to hear from you, so please leave a message.

                                   Thanks for visiting!

  1. Now, if I had a sewing machine, I MIGHT could try my hand at this. It seems so intimidating to me though (all of that measuring etc.). My neighbor said she has a Brother sewing machine that is in great condition she would be willing to sell me. I'm thinking about taking her up on that and she could show me the basics. She makes pillows and draperies. I knew I should've taken more sewing classes in highschool! I took cooking and home decorating and child care. Only one basic sewing class because I never thought I'd really use a machine. Oh well. I learned my lesson. LOL!

  2. Linda,
Fabulous tutorial! I've purchased several packages of drop-cloth just to do project with. Two of them being to make pillow tops for a couple of bar stools that need redoing. As soon as I find the time, I'm going to get them done. ha,ha on finding the time though.
    Have a great week!

  3. Excellent tutorial Linda! I am a self-taught sewer and I learn as I go!! I have always had trouble gathering...my thread always breaks which makes it frustrating!! Thanks for taking the time to write a tutorial...I know it was time consuming. Hope you have a wonderful day, Gail
