or should I be saying
Happy Halloween!!
Well this week we had our four grand daughters over and
we did some crafting......
Let's say they did some crafting while Nana offered some help.
The girls age from 6 to 15 wanted to paint.
So I always have artist canvas on hand from the $store.
I gave them some suggestions on Halloween and they did the rest.
We set up the craft table in my sewing studio and put out the
paints.
It's always handy to keep margarine tubs for water.
Here is what the craft table looked like.
First they drew out on their canvas what they were going to paint..........
From the beginning to the end.
Fabulous Girls!!
The next day they asked what craft can we do today.
Well out of my cupboard I pulled these Christmas decorations.
The ones that you can decorate any way you want.
They wanted to make melting snowman.
So here are the supplies :
clear balls
epsom salts for snow
googly eyes.
black beads for mouths
small piece of orange felt for the noses
First they filled the balls 1/3 of the way with epsom salts
then came the eyes that they dropped in .
Now I thought this was going to be so easy.
Ha! Not that easy. Every time they got their eyes in the place the way they wanted they moved.
Then came the nose.
We used a long pencil or skewer to move the nose and the eyes in place.
Then they dropped the beads in place to make a mouth.
Then out came the paints again to decorate them.
Some put their names on others just dated them.
We added the wire hangers to them.
Can't wait to see what they look like once Christmas comes and they are hanging on their trees.
I sure will miss the Grands once school starts.
Having so much fun with them.
They keep me young.
As always thanks for visiting!
Linda

ReplyDeleteYou are such a great grandmother spending so much quality time with your grandkids! The paintings and ornaments are adorable! I love the idea of the melting snowmen inside the ornaments! Those clear balls are such a great tool for those crafts. I've seen them at stores, but never bought any.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteAs I had a little break from blogging this summer, I have just stopped by to see how yours has gone. Haven't you been busy! As crafty and artistic as ever, you've moved onto Halloween already! So sorry to hear about Max. I'm sure the newest addition is keeping you busy. Loving the kitchen reno so far, looks fab!
