Hello friends!
I know it's been awhile, time just passes.
Today I would love to share with you our Son and DIL's new renovated bedroom.
They did it themselves. DIY Shiplap!!!
I have been seeing this new technique in all the magazines and over the net.
Mostly used was plywood cut into strips but Bill went out on a limb and did it
his way!
Downright GORGEOUS!!! Wouldn't you agree!
Bill used pine boards, for a more rustic look!
First they had their room painted in Benjamin Moore
Stonington Gray.
Then finding his wall studs he taped the wall before laying out his pattern.
Then went to work nailing them in place.
This way the knots in the pine would
show through.
Did you notice new king size bed and bedding.
Sorry there were no before pictures. The before room was painted in a soft yellow.
Here's a view of the whole room.
Last year I shared with you the barn door that my husband made for them.
Next in their plans is to rip up the carpet and lay hardwood flooring!
Love how this room turned out.
Have you done any renovations lately?
Love hearing about them and please let me know your thoughts on shiplap!
Great look, love the minwax grey staining the pine.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm behind the times because I've never heard of shiplap. But I'm loving this!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI do love the look of shiplap. This is gorgeous. I'd love it if you would share this at our new Monday Social Link party. https://katietreasures.blogspot.com/2016/10/monday-social-link-party-8.html
ReplyDeleteYes! Very gorgeous ♥
ReplyDeleteStunning! I love this look so much!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the shiplap look that is so popular now. This bedroom looks so nice and the headboard is beautiful too. Is the barn-style door one of the sliding ones? I've thought of that for our bedroom. We are doing major construction on our house, as you know, with the front entry addition and new siding. It's quite a project and I'm excited to see the finish.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so classy!
ReplyDeleteGreat job all around...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
The shiplap is gorgeous....great that your hubby did it his way!....Love the way it was stained and not painted to show the grain of the wood!
