French Goose...Oie
Oie French for Goose
Who can have too many pillows.....
Silly question ...right.....
.
Thought I would share with you my newest painting.......
Acrylic paint on washed burlap..........
Not one Oie but three...........
So I guess this would be geese.......
I decided to cover the back in drop cloth and use an envelope style closing.......
Meet Oie.........
This pillow measures 20 x 20 inches ...............
Geese pillow is going in my new sunroom........
For now they reside in the guest room.......
A new addition is going to be added this spring off our kitchen........
I will keep you posted and take pictures along the way........
Can't wait for the construction to begin........
Take Care! Thanks for your lovely comments!

Just have to paint....
OH NO!!
I'M ADDICTED!!
To paint that is...
First it was the red truck with the Christmas Tree...
Then came the snowman........
The wheels on the bus
go round and round.....
Oh I mustn`t forget Lucy!
I couldn't stop there....right..
My latest.... Nest or Springtime!
So off to the $dollar store for
more canvas supplies and more craft paint....
I wonder if I switched to oil paints and
paid more $$$$ would
that make me an ARTIST!!!!!
I think I'm kinda one now....
or you can say I'm
Creative!!
Then I stopped at Fabricland for
more white broadcloth...
Yup to paint on fabic...
More pillows..
Yipee!!
Well I started to paint and paint and paint......
Oh NO!!! I can`t put the brush down...
What have I become....
Now I have many projects on the go
that I should be finishing up......
I started knitting a baby`s blanket...good thing I don`t
have to finish it till the end of April.
A blanket Poncho......halfway there....
Another scarf I`m crocheting.....
Oh yes and that beautiful coloured
blanket that I started months ago......
I have seeds to plant and bulbs to start.....
Oh well another day......
Thanks so much for stopping by my
little corner of the world!

Bringing Home the Tree
My newest painting!
It all started when I showed my hubby this cute pillow
by Lucy @ Craftberry Bush .....
Red Christmas Beetle.....
He asked if I would paint him a throw pillow
with his 49 ford pick up truck on it...
So I started out sketching on paper and with his input
we had a rough outline of his truck.
Out came the paints and the fabric...
The rest is history!
Thank you for coming by and leaving a message!

PILLOWS AND A TUTORIAL

You can never have too many.
I have been busy in my studio sewing, sewing and painting....
Painting, you say..
Yes painting. I purchased some Osnaburg fabric
and knew immediately what I was going to create.
Why not replicate an grainsack.
I started out with a 16x 27 lumbar pillow.
You will need the following;
I cut a piece of fabric

tape, I used painters 1" tape.
craft paint (colonial red) watered down
paint brush (or stencil brush)

sewing machine, thread.
Now for some prep work.
Find the middle of the fabric.
I marked mine off with a pencil and a ruler.
measure 1 in. from the centre line out both ways.
draw lines straight across your fabric.
place your tape on the outside of the lines
your painted area should be 2 in.
measure 1 in on either side of the 2 in center.
tape it off the same

paint 1 in lines
.see picture...
Once this is dry IRON WITH A DRY IRON.

Sew right sides together Along the length of your fabric..
Measure your fabric to the size of your finished pillow, and add for 2" for finishing
off your seams.
Mine measured 16 1/2 x 32
trim off excess and turn under edges. see photo.
Now make your ties. You will need 8 in total. Mine are cut at 2" press in half and then bring outer edges to the fold and stitch close to the edge.
Centre the ties and sew on.
There you have it. I hope you will make one as well.
until next time,
LINDA

SOME FINISHES FOR 2011
Happy New Year!
It has been a busy 2 weeks here at the White Weathered Hutch.
I'm having a chi tea latte while I'm posting. My family came and went and then there was NEW YEARS. Hope everyone had a fabulous time.
Two of my grandaughters are here for the week. We are having so much fun, doing crafts, cooking and playing out in the snow.
The two of them are now playing with the Wii. So this is Nana's
quiet time.
I would like to share some finishes that I should have posted but ran out of time.
First my PB knockoff.
A cute poinsettia pillow/cushion. I had the burlap and the felt and the bells, so I went to it. I t went together really fast.
Next, I had these stars that I made years ago for a craft sale.
Printed off vintage sheet music (courtesy of the graphics fairy)
ripped the paper then began gluing it on to the star in a random order. When it was done I put a coating of Mod Podge on it.
While it was still wet I sprinkled some glitter on it.
Once it was dried I hung it on my wreath.
This one was so easy and fun to do. I downloaded this subway art
courtesy of Eye Candy Events Details.
Once I printed it I adhered it to a plaque that I had whitewashed.
once again I used Mod Podge and finished it off with some glitter.
It can hang or just sit on a shelf.
Finally finished my snow people.
Mr. Snowman and Mrs. Snow women .
These were fun to make.
The other sits and one that stands say I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH..
..
I have many projects lined up to start next week.
Don't forget to drop back.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments this past few months.
Thank you for following my journey.
I have made quite a few fabulous friends.
until next time

Ballard Inspired Pillow
While visiting my friends BLOG, CONFESSIONS OF A PLATE ADDICT,
I loved this pillow that Debbie made.
A Ballard inspired JOYEUX NOEL pillow,
I knew I had to make one.
So off to my sewing studio and cut out my fabric for a finished 16"X16" PILLOW.
Taking into consideration that I had all this fabric on hand, Ballard's pillow was $69. ON SALE FOR $39.00.
My cost 0. just my time . Debbie graciously supplied the graphics for the wording.
Here is my BALLARD inspired joyeux noel pillow.
Another project done, just in time for my Ladies English Tea at noon today.
Thanks Debbie for the inspirations and the graphics.
Now maybe I have time for another pillow?
