Our covered porch is an extension of our home......
Do you decorate your outside to reflect what is on your inside.
Well our wee covered porch is off our kitchen.
So I decided to redecorate our porch to compliment our kitchen.
As you may know in past posts that our kitchen is in red and white toile accents.
Red and white transferware........ need I say more. soooo
I set about and made new slips for the cushions on the bench and chairs .
I had a drop cloth just waiting to evolve into pillow slips and these were so
easy to make. Rather then using zippers or an envelope I used ties.
Here is a before picture.
Crying out for help....NEW CUSHIONS.........
I had the red pillows that I had just made last year in out door fabric but I needed
something with a softer look. So I made these new red and white ticking pillows.
I love how they turned out.
Looks cozy enough to have an afternoon siesta.
I had the old sewing machine and just added tempered glass to the top for
the corner table.
Added a few accents ... refinished another tray, whitewashed an old toolbox
that I made a few years ago.
Great for holding mags and or plants...Let your imagination run.
Do you see it... My french bistro set fits nicely in a corner.
Oh I see many mornings out here having my coffee watching my garden grow.
Hearing the birds sing, the water trickle from the pond and everything being so tranquil.
Here is our view off the porch looking onto our deck and beyond.
We have this small part
fenced in to protect our dogs from nigh time predators.
If you look far enough you can see our veg garden that is why my hose is on the fence
for easy watering.
This picture is from last year showing our screened in gazebo.
The back deck gets full sun till late in the evening. Lay back and let your imagination
take you to south France... We could be there....
Have a great week!
Linda

ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI love your outdoor space! Your new pillows are wonderful.

Oh what a beautiful setting and the porch is amazing. I love it. I think I would just live there. Beautifully done. Thanks for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour covered porch looks like such a relaxing place to be!!! Love the new cushion covers...
ReplyDeleteWow! I love all of your outdoor seating areas! First of all, having your back porch tie in with your kitchen colors is a great idea. I like how you did that. Your french bistro set is perfect in the corner. Still wish I had one! Second of all, I'm in love with your view. It's so peaceful and private! I live in a subdivision where the houses are a little close. So, I don't have a private backyard like that. We have driveways that line each side of ours and garages and kids and dogs running around. So much for a peaceful setting at my house! Ha! My front porch is a little more private (believe it or not). We really could use a privacy fence, but they're very expensive. So, we just deal with it. Thanks for sharing your little slice of paradise!
ReplyDeleteI love your porch. What a special place to enjoy. I'll grab some Iced Tea and a couple of cookies and meet you there :-)
ReplyDeleteYour covered porch looks so lovely Linda! You are so lucky to have one! The shot of your backyard is so pretty! Wishing you a wonderful week! Angie xo

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to hang out. Love the new look.
ReplyDeleteI love your covered porch area! The red striped cushion covers look great with the white wicker. It would be a lovely spot to relax and no bugs to bother you. That's why I'm inside on this lovely evening. Too many blackflies and no screened porch. :( Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks so comfy and inviting. I know you must spend a lot of time out there.

I love your wicker furniture and the cushions you made..in fact I have the same ticking but I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with it yet so I'm just hanging on to it.
