Well the other day while taking these lovely pictures of my flowers around our home
I noticed this dark cloud. I said to myself oh boy do we need rain.
I looked at my pathetic veg garden and asked myself WHY!
Look at that pathetic corn. The weeds have taken over. The pumpkins have started
growing but their leaves are dying off. My peas have been plentiful and my tomatoes
are in abundance.
They just need to ripen.
When a freight train went by. We have no train tracks near us. I looked out
my window and the wind was bending the trees, the plants on my upper porch were
strewn across the porch.
The wicker furniture moved from one end to the other.
Hail the size of golf balls on the deck and the grass. Such destruction in such little time.
Hydro out, wires down, trees down.
Wow all I asked for was some rain!!!
Be careful what you wish for!!!!!!
Our Rose of Sharon before the storm
.
Then after the storm
We were very fortunate that we had no real destruction.
Have a great weekend!!
Linda
oh my...well, at least you got rain.

Oh my goodness! I'm glad to hear that you had no real damage, but what a mess!
ReplyDeleteOh my! We're getting more of a steady rain here and it is so needed! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteOh my I am glad nothing got severely damaged and you are safe. We had a very bad storm here in NJ last night and another one is supposed to happen today. The weather goes from one extreme to the another in a moment sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOn another note the sunflowers look fantastic.
Cynthia
Hi Linda. Nice to meet you. Your garden is lovely in spite of the rain and hail. Glad you didn't have much damage from the storm.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. What a storm. It seems like we've had so much severe weather this summer.
ReplyDeleteThe weather every where has been just crazy. The hail is so destructive. Your poor Rose of Sharon...hopefully it will come back next year. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
