Out with the old, In with new!!

Out with the old.......

Remember this...

Three years ago we downsized to this cute raised bungalow.

Well now for the kitchen.
I came from a large country kitchen with lots of cupboards and a large pantry.

Well our new kitchen is much smaller.
Not enough storage. So off to we went to Ikea and built this cute island.

This helped with some storage for my cutlery, pots and pans and tupperware.
The cupboard beside the drawers housed all my glass baking dishes.
Now where was all the food to go. Remember the old kitchen had a long wall pantry.

So in came my antique Quebec pine cupboard.

Filled it to the brim.  Now this measures 47 w x 60 h x 18 deep.
The only downfall was I never knew what was at the back of the cupboard.
If you live in the Toronto Area it's for SALE!!!

Mr dh said I thinks it's time to visit Ikea once again.
We need a proper pantry.  You know it was time when........

So here is the new.

I filled it to the brim, but I know whats at the back.

The kitchen looks so bright and airy.
This is a new item BESTO . You can add to it. Change up the doors etc.
We will keep it just as is.
Now down the road I would like to add some crown molding and change up my
kitchen doors on the cabinets to match.
So you see Mr.dh one thing does lead to another....

  3. I really like your new Ikea cabinet as it really brightens up the kitchen and I'm sure it is much more practical. However, I think I'd find room for that old Quebec cabinet somewhere. It's a beautiful piece. Your kitchen is really sweet and cozy. Have a great day!

  8. That is a great cabinet and it works so well with your island. As beautiful as the pine hutch was, I think this one will both look great and be more functional. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  14. Everything DOES look bright and airy, Linda! I really like the look of your new pantry. As a matter of fact, I am in need of one myself. Unfortunately, it's just always so hard to find something that hubby and I agree on. ;)
