Crocheting............

  Yarn, crochet hook................Chain 4   .....

Yarn over, single crochet, double crochet.............

This is such a relaxing art.........

It has made a comeback..................

For years it was just the Granny that crocheted.........

Now young and old have picked up this form of art.........

Everywhere you look someone has a hook and yarn in
their hands...........

Hooking  beanie hats  seem to be very popular.....

Afghans (blanket) are so very popular...........

Cowls (scarves).........The list goes on..........

Well you say where am I going with this...........

Since you asked.......I had this leftover yarn you see....

and since it was just sitting there in my basket..........

I decided to make some granny squares............

Haven't made these in years.........

Sooooooo..............

These colours just yell spring!!!!!!!!

This cute 49 for p/u truck has a full load.............

Now where might this be going.......................

Could it be a blanket..............

A pillow.................

Can you guess!!!!!!

  2. :D I don't crochet, but I bought a bunch of granny squares from Etsy and tied them together with ribbon and made my daughter a pillow sham for her dorm room.

    So....whatcha makin'? I don't have a clue.

  3. These colors do yell Spring. How Beautiful.
I' m guessing it's going to be a lap blanket.

    Have a wonderful Sunday.

  4. My grandmother crocheted all the time, I sure wished that I would have learned how from her. The one thing I can do is a long chain stitch, I suppose I could make a jump rope since I don't know how to tie things together or any other stitch...just the regular old chain stitch.
I'm guessing blanket but then a pillow would be great too. Love the colors that you're using, looks so Springy.

  6. Maybe a baby blanket? Love the colors. Almost finished my tunisian crochet blanket....the one on a 2' piece of dowling. Will have to show you when we get home. I have a 2' hook made for you. Truck looks great. It shouldn't be long before the real ones come out. High today 80.

  7. Lovely colours! I'm glad it is back because I'm not a granny and I haven't stopped crocheting since I was 8 or so and first learned how ;)

  8. Well it looks like it might be a blanket that you're making, but I don't know. I'm sure it will be pretty and is keeping you very occupied while making it. My husband's grandmother crocheted all the time and loved it. We have many aphgans that she made. I can see how it would be relaxing to do that.

  9. My ex-husband's family is Swedish and they crochet a lot. When his aunt was visiting back in the late 70's, she sat me down and taught me to crochet all in Swedish. It wasn't too long before I was reading patterns in English and I haven't looked back. I love to knit, but crocheting seems easier and quicker somehow.

Love the colours of this spring project - I think it's probably going to be a basket for East.

  15. I love to crochet.
I like to carry small projects for crocheting when I'm at the V.A.Hosp waiting on The Honey...it makes a great conversation starter and visiting with the folks while I'm waiting ...it ALL makes the time go more quickly.
Hmmm...what do I think you are making?
Any number of things, a pillow cover, a banner for the mantel, a cushion for your office chair or ottoman? A blanket for a new addition to the family? Crochet can become anything...have fun with it, whatever it is becoming.

  16. I bought a book to teach myself how to crochet granny square afghans before we had grandchildren, but the grandkids came first and I haven't had a chance to give it a try yet. I love all the bright colored pillows and afghans I've been seeing the past few years and can't wait to see what you make with your squares! Love the truck, too.
