ANTIQUES AT QUEENSVILLE Cont'd

While antiquing last Sunday here, I came upon huge bins of bobbins.

Now I know, big deal... well it was for me because I have been on the lookout

for a large bobbin  so  that I could copy this..........

You must go visit this cute blog. I love her decorating.

You see I have tried to purchase this bobbin with roping and scissors and came up with a big O......

Well you can imagine when I saw this one I knew it would work........

We are all great at copying aren't we.........

Took my new but old bobbin and wrapped it with jute roping....

Then added scissors to the top.     Well mine is a tad larger but what the heck for $5.00

I think it was a steal.

I was also on the lookout for a basket.    Many baskets to choose from then I spied this one.

Sitting all alone on a bench.......It was like there was a light shining in from the window......

Here I am, take me........

How could I leave it behind.....It was perfect......... and black just what I wanted.......

I'm sure there is a name for this basket......just not any basket........

I know exactly where I going to put it and decorate with it.....

Where would you put such a gorgeous basket????

Now I'm off to my Salon and spa......just to be pampered......

                                       Thanks for visiting!

  1. Great finds ! Looks wonderful ! Quite strangely chilly here today and heavy dark clouds rolling by rain is on it's way ! The temps feel , smell and remind me of our camping days . Pretty chilly by lake Erie today my fisherman friend told me. Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !

  3. Your version turned out great! Have you been looking to buy that spool and twine that was shown in the picture? I have one too and I bought mine at Luckett's online shop. No need now though. You did a great job making your very own. I'm sure you saved some money too.

  6. I have the same basket. It belonged to my aunt and, though it has a little break in the bottom, it's very special to me. Nice job on your copy cat project!

  7. A couple of great finds, Linda. Love the bobbin project - you got the feel and look of the original. Think I need to look for a bobbin myself.

I don't know what the basket is, but I would use it to gather flowers. So I think it needs to be on a potting bench. What are you going to do with it?

  11. Your basket won't be lonely anymore, Linda. You can use it as a centerpiece on your dining table with some fruits or adorn your living room with flowers. Anyway, the bobbin looks great. You can easily find your scissor when it's always placed at the top. :)
