A sneak peak of our master bathroom
Since moving in 5 years ago we have been updating and renovating our home.
Room by room.
Our house consisted of many colours .
So we had a painter come in and paint the entire main floor all the same colour
till we could decide on which rooms should be what ........
Benjamin Moore is a favourite paint of mine and we went with the colour
of Muslin throughout.
The ceilings were painted Cloud White......
I found that this colour Muslin was very calming and it made our home appear
much larger.
We downsized from a 2500 sq. ft home to 1800 sq. ft.
I am still very happy with our choice of colour.
The master bath was a priority.......the previous owners had painted it s bright strawberry pink.....
So that room was also painted in Muslin.......
You see the fixtures are gray. At first I wanted to renovate and pull it all apart.........
I wanted a spa ...just like I had in our previous home.......
Well over time this layout has grown on me.........you see we have a laundry closet in this bathroom.
The gray fixtures have also grown on me ........
but.....there is always a but.........
Now's the time to paint .....new vanity.....counter top and faucet.......
I have put together paints.....

I love this vanity.....and of course a marble top more like this picture........

still checking out faucets......
But in the meantime while I'm deciding on the colours and the vanity.......
We made a few changes........
Mr. White Weathered Hutch framed our mirror.......
I know ...it's nothing new...right.....but.......
We didn't frame the outside of the mirror...
nor did we attach it with adhesive .........
Hubby came up with a better idea........
He hung the frame right on the mirror so we could take it down when we are ready to
paint.....
" CLEVER "
Here's how.......
First he measured the mirror then with 3" American Poplar floor trim
he made the frame......

then painted in Raven black semi gloss....
cut out where the clips are on the mirror....see here.....
to hang on the mirror........
Added this clip to the bottom to hold frame tightly to the mirror.
Hung the frame on the mirror.....
I changed up the accessories to white....
Just this little mini makeover makes a big impact.....
Don't you agree?

ReplyDeleteLike the idea of how the mirror was framed by your husband. Great job! I can't wait to starting painting again in the fall when we find a new home. Have a Happy Easter!

ReplyDeleteLove the framed mirror Linda! Sometimes it's the little changes that make the biggest impact!
ReplyDeleteYou were smart to paint your house a neutral colour until you decide on room colours. Muslin is a nice soft shade too. The framed mirror is great. It really gives the mirror a boost. Your Mister is pretty smart. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish my mirrors were framed in my bathroom. I like how your husband did that. Looking forward to seeing the other changes you make in there.
ReplyDeleteVery clever idea for a removable mirror frame!

ReplyDeleteMuslin is one of my favourite colours too! We had it in our master bedroom at the last house and will use it again here.
ReplyDeleteWhat an ingenious idea for the mirror. Can you send him my way - I have a list of things needing to be done.
There are still stuff to do and look at, indeed. But at least the base elements of your new bathroom are already there. I just hope that you've fitted them all, right down to the plumbing, which is very crucial for a renovation to truly work, since you wouldn't want leakage to literally seep into it all. Thanks for sharing that, Linda! All the best to you!
