ruffles and tulips

Spring has Sprung here at the
                           White Weathered Hutch.

Wow the temps rose to a balmy 70 degrees here north of  Toronto.
The robins were out gathering grasses for their nests and  filling up on worms.
The two doves were back cooing.  My Mom used to call them love birds.
Well since it will be awhile before my tulips will be ready for picking I did
                                        the next best thing.
Went to the market and purchased these beauties for $5.99.
Aren't they the showiest(is that a word) in purple.
I normally would have bought white but these drew my attention.
They show off my cute new white jug.

A steal at $9.99 at Homesense.
Well I could not stop  there,my table needed a cute ruffled runner for these tulips.
I purchased 5 yards of Osnaberg fabric , a linen look without the price of Linen.
This little number went together so fast.

All I needed was a piece cut to 15 x26.
Then I hemmed all four seams then cut 1, 4" WOF,
Cut it in the middle that gave me 4" x 20.
Then I gathered the seams till it measured 14"

Sewed the ruffles at each end
Top stitched the ruffle and gave it a good press. Frayed the edges.
                                 There you have it.
                              A cute ruffled table runner.

                                                Have a great week!

  14. Very pretty! You found that pitcher for a good price, I love Homesense, that's the only decor store that I can afford to buy anything in. Your tulips are lovely and so is your new runner. I had never heard of Osnaberg fabric. I will have to remember that name so I can look for it at Fabricland. Hopefully, they will have some.
I live in Winnipeg and our weather was in the 70's until today, it was in the 50's today.
    Have a great week.
