Candy Cane Glitter House

Not too early????  Jump start Christmas.

I know the pumpkin isn't cold.......

But I still had 2 houses that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby to glitter.

Lets start with the smaller one.

This house was to be red....... That much I knew, and the roof blue.

So I went about painting with my craft paints.

OK OK!!! LET"S BACK UP THE TRUCK!!!

The houses weren't always white. I spray painted these in the summer outside.

I proceeded to tape off the windows before painting the house red.

See I left some of MARTHA'S TAPE (BLUE) on the upper left window.

The roof also got two coats of blue.  Once dry I made up a paste out of flower and
water. Made it good and thick and used this as my snow on the roof.

That kept the costs down.....    So once the snow on the roof was dry I painted it white.

Ok now comes the glue... I used Elmer's white glue.

Apply that all over the blue paint not to touch the snow. Then use your white Martha Stewart glittter.
Shake off the excess and put up to dry.

Continue to the main house and glue then glitter. This I did it  in red glitter.

I found these cute candy canes also in Hobby Lobby and thought they would look great on my house.

So these then got glued down.

While in Hobby Lobby I came across this cute elf.

Now doesn't he go cute with this house??

I have placed the Candy Cane House on the desk in the guest room.

Not sure if this is where it will stay. In my spare time...... I made those cute stockings.

Had some fun decorating my glass lamp with a door hanger.

Well I have packed all my fall decorations away for another season.

Started pulling out my Christmas decorations.

Our first Christmas house tour of the season will be next weekend. I will be sure to bring my camera.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a message. I love to read them all.

  2. Good Morning Linda, My goodness you are a "busy bee". The little glitter house is gorgeous and if you are like me you will be moving it around, for a little while to come, until you find the perfect spot. Have a lovely weekend. Best Wishes Daphne

  4. Well aren't you "Johnny on the spot" with your Christmas decorating already! I love that little red house you made. I didn't know you could buy those at Hobby Lobby. I would love to have some to use silver glitter all over. That would be simple and pretty. Thanks for giving me that idea! Love your little stockings you made too.
