HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

As we all get ready for the New Year.........

I would like to take this time to thank all my wonderful friends in Blog Land

for being my friend and without your lovely comments I probably wouldn't

be blogging today.............................


                          This past year has been an exciting and enjoyable one!!...........

Enough of that blubbery stuff..................

Lets have an afternoon tea...........

With some home baked scones with cranberries and almonds.............................


Some Christmas cookies.......





Tea ....Tetlley...Orange Pecoe....... will be served today..........

With or without sugar............Milk.........or a slice of lemon........

 Would you like the recipe for the scones??

You know you would.............

 recipe for the scones:

2 1/2 cups flour
3 tbsp of sugar
2 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp of Baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 Cup of dried cranberries
1 Cup of sliced almonds

combine top ingredients\

add:
1/2 cup cold cubed butter
1 cup of almond milk
1 egg whipped
1 tsp of fresh lemon rind

roll out onto floured board and knead 10 times

shape into a rectangle and use parchment paper on a cookie sheet
cut into squares of 12

Topping: egg brush and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake @400 for 12-15 mins.

  9. Doesn't the snow give everything a new beauty? Love this picture with the urn. As for the sconces - yum! I make them with orange and cranberry. Never thought of doing it with almond milk - will give it a try.

  15. Your scones look delicious, Linda! I have got to find a gluten free recipe for those. There are so many different GF flours you could use, but I'm sure I'd pick the wrong one without some kind of recipe!
