Vignettes in the Kitchen

                        Welcome!

Summer is here!!!! We have had four great sunny days...........Warm!!!!

Thought I would update  you  on my kitchen progress....

All cupboards are in....I should be so excited but...........

The last three ....well that's a story in itself........

Cupboards were all measured.....Contractor measured again before ordering.....that's a plus!!

The day came and all were installed....except. the corner cabinet and the one beside the sink....

Measurements were wrong.......waited another few weeks ....but........

the corner cupboard came  with glass not the ones beside the sink as asked.....

so again another order is placed......

Horray! Contractor calls and comes to install last three......

Oh no wrong size.........but not his mistake ... the company he orders from sent the wrong
size.....so ....the story continues......still waiting.....that was 2 weeks ago........

So I decided to go ahead and decorate the tops of my new cupboards ............

Here is what I came up with.........for above the corner cabinets.....

A black basket........

An antique cheese box holding my antique bobbins....

An old spool the I added the jute to..........

Old cutting boards..........

A old clock face.........so you would think.......right.....I see a tutorial in the making...

did you notice that our kitchen ceiling is papered....

Over the fridge.......

The cute black antique basket that I purchased a few weeks back......

An old round basket and a large green wicker ball.......

I love my new kitchen that we installed on a budget!
Can't wait to show it to you.

How do you decorate the tops of your cupboards?

A little tip for keeping the tops clean...I put scrap book paper on the top, just the right size..

keeps the tops grease and dust free.

ps...Benny and Fergus are adjusting....

                                            Thanks for Visiting!

  1. Your vignettes look great Linda. I love all the different items you used. Your wallpapered ceiling is very pretty. I've been working in my kitchen too. I just put up a tin ceiling. Talk about a workout :)

I can't wait to see more of your beautiful new cabinets.

  3. Oh I am so sorry you had to wait so long to get your kitchen done but these things happen unfortunately . I like your decor though very nice ! I collect cottage tea pots and that's what I have above my cupboards . Thanks for sharing . Hot and humid here today but there is a nice cool breeze. Have a good day !

  4. Love your vignettes - especially the one in the corner. I love to put things on top of cupboards - my pitcher collection, some old bottles and tins and an old kitchen scale. No fake plants though.

Great pics, by the way. It's HARD to take a decent picture up there.

  5. Oh my gosh! I can't believe how many times they've had to come back and redo your cabinets!!! I would be so upset. Hopefully, their next visit won't be messed up too. The little sneak peek looks great. You've done a nice job accessorizing the tops so far. Definitely has a farmhouse vibe. Love the tip you gave using the scrapbook paper too. I should've done that with mine about 17 years ago! It's not easy keeping them clean.
