Snow....Winter......Garden....

                                       Living Winter Garden

                       Good Monday Morning!!

Yes I have to admit it....let it out.....I'm a Copy Cat!!

               Remember my inspiration photo

Just as the snow is falling I'm out around the yard gathering
plants and branches for my Living Winter Garden.

Hydrangeas, Black Eyed Suzies that had
gone to seed, cuttings from my
                           Eucalyptus bush, Ornamental Cabbage,
                                 cuttings from Cedars, Evergreens,
                                           Russian Sage.

I knew I had the perfect chair and a basket that was
in the shed that would hold all my cuttings.

                                 Then I went to work
First I put oasis in the bottom of the basket
then I started assembling all the cuttings with the
highest at the back. Once it was full and to my
liking I tied it to the back of the bistro
                                 chair with florist wire.

Gave it a good watering so it would
                                            freeze and stay fresh.

Next came the branches that I cut from
                                        my silver spruce.
Laid them on the seat then
I added an old lantern that was missing
some glass and a outdoor candle.
You know the kind with the
remote so that you can turn it on at
                                                   dusk.

                        Now stand back and admire!

Here I added some colour with my rain/winter
garden  boots.
Also a burlap ribbon to the lantern.

Look who got in this picture!!
Fergus!!

Here is another view taken at night!

  3. I love this Linda! It came out beautifully. I did up my containers on Saturday and am wanting to have a chair out there to set one on. I have the chair on the back deck that I suppose I could put out front but I'd miss it's pretty green brightness all winter out the dining room window. I'll figure something out soon. I should water mine too. One is stared to freeze already. Have a great week.

  4. I love it! I think yours looks so pretty with the cabbage added to it. I never did find those this year to add to my Fall planters. You're better about planting outside in the cold than I am. It's nice that you can enjoy that in the snow too.

  5. So sweet and hey here they would be covered in snow. Watching people that have not put on their snow tires struggle to get up our hill. :)

  6. it looks amazing!!! I'm loving all the winter gardens out there. Need to get out and do the same.

By the way - my sock knitting project is coming along beautifully - almost finished one already. But everything is on hold because we got a new addition to our family - Jesse, a 10 week old Jack Russell terrier cross. He won't let me do anything right now - as soon as I sit down, he wants to rest beside me.
