Drop Cloth Slipcover!!

Welcome to White Weathered Hutch!!!

Ok the jig is up.   Did you see my sneak peak here.

Remember this sofa in my living room.

It's very large, but still in excellent shape.  So do you go out and buy new orrrrr......

Make a slipcover.  Well that's exactly what I did.

I  didn't want it too fitted,  so I cut a panel for the back and added ties. Like the wood to show
since my coffee tables are so formal.

Measured from top to bottom and new it needed a shirt.

Did some ripping here and there.
Added this little ruffle and there you have it folks.

 My own customized dropcloth slipcover.

Looks like Fergus likes it!!
Now to start on the other sofa.......

What have I created.......   Dropcloth Fever.
Yes, I also moved the furniture around.  Now I need to change those lampshades.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. It makes my day!!

  3. Your slip covers are awesome. I love the look of drop cloth! I want to try to make slip covers for my sofa, but I don't know how it would work with my formal like sofa! It is such an odd shape.
Your sofa slip covers are wonderfully done and you have such good skills and taste!

  4. Love the drop cloths for furniture covers. I bought two 9x12 drop cloths easy to throw over sofa and tuck in ... no worries about dogs on the furniture, just pull it off and toss in the washer.

  6. I love the look, Linda! It looks exactly how I like sofas to look. Oh, and what is is with Westies and the backs of sofas? I know of so many who do that, although Bonnie is too scared...she is odd in that way.

Fergus is just too dang cute....seeing him on your blog has made my day!

  16. I love slipcovers! And....I love dropcloths used for fabric. Great combination! I know you will enjoy the versatility of having it. You did a great job making it fit your sofa. I have a well made sofa underneath my slipcover too. That is one reason I haven't gone out to buy a new sofa. They're too darn expensive for a good one too.

  19. Slipcovers are great for giving a neutral look to perfectly good furniture. I like that you kept the wood showing, it reminds me of one Miss Mustard Seed made for a settee.

  21. Love it! I used the biggest drop cloth I could find at Lowe's, looks okay but sure wish I could sew one like you did:) My sofa is 109" very hard to find slipcovers large enough to fit it!

  23. CUTE!
I have a settee and chair that have needed covering since I got them 2 1/2 years ago; right now they have sheets thrown over them...but If I don't get them re-upholstered soon (or tossed out according to The Honey) ...I may need to put a slip cover...something like this would be great.
