Pottery Barn Inspired Pillow Tutorial Jingle all the Way!!

Yes I knew when I saw this pillow that I had to make it!

I'm a big copy cat!!

Not only did I make one, but three!!

I saw this lumbar pillow in Pottery Barn's Catalog..

Pottery Barn Lumbar Jingle Pillow

I knew I had to make it.  The girls would love this cute pillow
to add to their festive decor.

Soooooo. Do you want to know how?

I made a few adjustments to the pattern.

Mine is 12" x 18" finished. Theirs is 12" x 24".

I knew I had white burlap in my stash,
red craft paint,
a stencil brush,
jingle bells,
Poly fill from an old pillow
handmade stencil (Graphics for stencil found here)

Let's get started.

I cut my fabric 13" x 19" .
Cut 6 pieces at once.

Took my handmade stencil placed a piece of cardboard under
my burlap and proceeded to stencil onto the fabric with my
red craft paint.

I added on the a few embellishments to make it look more
like Pottery Barns.

Once it dried I placed right sides of fabric together and proceeded
to sew a 1/4" all around leaving a good size opening to turn out and stuff.

When stuffing with poly fill I always use a chopstick to push the filling into the corners and pack it tightly.

Once you have filled your pillow it's time to pin the opening shut and now sew a 1/4" seam all along the outside edge.
Gives it a finished look.

Now add your bells......It's that simple.

I know I used a different colour of burlap and my bells are not
red but the girls loved them.

As Always Thanks for stopping by!
Love it when you leave a message!

  5. Super cute idea. I'm going to pin it to use it next year - hope that's okay. I love knocking off these expensive items like this.

And I like the tip about the 1/4" edging - I'm always adding piping to try and get a good look. But it's finicky and can get expensive. I'll be using that technique the next time I'm making a pillow. Soon as I have to do a Valentine's pillow for a blog feature with The Garden Charmers.
