Lavender Topiary
LAVENDER
Ah lavender....love the aromatic smell and all it's uses....
I grow lavender in my side garden and cultivate it.
But here is a new one that I had never seen till
last spring.
My daughter brought home this topiary.
I hunted all the local garden centers
and came up empty handed.
So to my delight when she went to ST.JACOB'S
market this spring she picked me up.......
Lavandula stoechas Anouk
Known as Spanish Lavender .......
This beautiful specimen grows to 16" tall.
Once the first flush of flowers is over you prune it back 50% , new
growth will produce fresh flowers and they will continue on till the fall.
You can keep it indoors or plant outside.
To be sure mine survives I'm keeping it inside come the fall.
If you happen to stop by, leave me a message
I love hearing from you!!
Linda

Beautiful. Is it as fragrant as the other lavender. It's one of my favorite "flavors."
ReplyDeleteIt is fragrant, but not as strong as the other lavender plants.
DeleteI love it!! I bet your house smells wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThe scent is not as strong. I loved it more for the look.
DeleteThat's beautiful Linda! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty, Linda!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gina!
DeleteThat is such a beautiful plant! I love the smell of lavender too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! I have already given it a haircut and since all the blooms died off. It is to bloom again before the fall.
DeleteHow so beautiful....I am going to try and grow some lavender...need to use it as a "deer repellent" and also to beautify the space!....cannot believe that it grows 16 feet tall...wow!
ReplyDeleteOh no I meant 16" inches....lol The lavender that grows lower to the ground is the one to cultivate.
DeleteA couple of my friends got them at Home Depot. But of course, by the time I went they were gone!
ReplyDeleteLove where you've got yours. And that plinth its sitting on is awsome
If you are ever at the StJacobs market try there.
