Christmas Home Tour

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

It's that time of year ! Everyone's busy decorating and shopping for that special someone.
We have had our home open for Charity's as part of Christmas Home Tours in the past
where you buy a pass/ticket to many decorated homes for the holidays.
Many homes have their unique styles. From Country homes to City they all rose to perfection.

Since owning and operating a Country Collectible store some years ago I have always
 enjoyed Christmas decorating.
I especially enjoyed dressing the front store window for all the kiddies
to press their wee faces against the window pane and watch
with excitement the antique mechanical toys.

So sometimes I tend to go overboard in my decorating but not this year!

I'm keeping it simple and uncluttered.

When decorating be true to yourself.

Many homes that you will see will inspire you
but Love what you have, don't get discouraged.
Many of my decorations are thrift store purchases as
well as dollar store items.

The small faux trees are dollar store finds.

I've used faux branches from HomeSense (HomeGoods in the  US)
for fillers as well as snow covered stems from the dollar store.

I have incorporated reds, white, grey and plaids into my decorating this
year for a Rustic Country look!

The stockings hung on the bannister are made with tree burlap and stuffed with a bell on the toe.
I made these a few years ago and are so easy to make and a bag of tree burlap is so much easier on the
pocket book than burlap by the yard at the fabric store.

Add a string of lights , some garland from HomeSense (HomeGoods in the US) and some
 painted pinecones

Many Owls,  bleached pinecones, plaid ribbon, red decorations, garland and faux fillers fill our tree!

Loving my new  Antlers in Silver glitter and  the wire nest purchased at HomSense
(HomeGoods in US)  that hang on the Living Room wall.

I hung some plaid ribbon around them to resemble a scarf!

These decorations and faux birch tree add to the Rustic look.

Our Living room leads into our kitchen where I have carried  red and white onto
the table and hutch.

Tomorrow I will tour you through our kitchen down the hall
and down into our Great Room where we spend time with family

Until then friends!

Merry Christmas!

  2. I agree with being true to yourself. I like nuetrals and whites, silver and gold with a pop of color, red, blue, pink or whatever the room inspires. Last year everyone was doing the turquoise and red and I hopped on the bandwagon but it didn't feel like home. This year I am back to my basics. I love your style. Everything is beautiful.

  4. Very pretty, Linda. My favourite part is the vignette with the painting and table. The silver nest and antlers are lovely also and I think that ribbon is a pretty close match to my new pillow fabric.

  8. It's stunning!!! I love how you used the burlap and that bell on each toe for the stockings!!! And your words of encouragement are just what we need to hear at this time of year! so many people think it has to be "just so", when really it's about loving what you have.
